Open the Book

We hope to start revisiting Hob Green for OTB assemblies as soon as we are allowed in to the school again.

We have now re-started visiting Greenfield School with our first Open The Book of 2022 having taken place on 6th April.

Open the Book is a national initiative to bring stories from the Bible into primary school assemblies. Teams of volunteer storytellers use drama, mime, props, costume and audience participation to present Bible stories in ways that are lively, interactive, engaging and fun!

At no cost to schools, this programme is OFSTED and SIAMS approved and is a fantastic way to share the Bible, which is full of inspirational, gruesome, funny, sad, real and relevant stories.

We have partnerships with two local schools, Greenfield and Hob Green, to lead assemblies once a month. Each school has a dedicated team of presenters who are drawn from across the church’s age range.
