About Hope Baptist Church Stourbridge
We’re ordinary people from all walks of life, united in a conviction that God has demonstrated His infinite and unconquerable love for this world of ours in His Son, Jesus Christ, who shared our human life, was cruelly put to death and who overcame death when he was raised to new life.
God’s love is an essential part of our lives, and we believe that He wants us to share that love with those around us.
You may have noticed our strap line:
committed to loving, serving and sharing Jesus.
- We express our love for Jesus in our worship
- We serve Jesus by working in our local community
- We share Jesus through our life together and in our friendship with those who use our facilities
We are one of many Christian communities who worship God in Stourbridge. We enjoy close links with the other churches and work together in many practical ways. Click on Connections for more information about the Stourbridge Christian scene.
What makes us distinctive (and what we bring to the mix of Christian traditions in the town) is that we belong to the national network of Baptist churches. If you are interested in what that entails, click on About The Baptists.
The Hanbury Hill chapel has been our home since 1836 and it holds happy associations for many people in the town. However, the building is showing its age and we are thinking about relocating at some point in the future. Ideally, we hope for more modern premises that would give us the scope to develop connections with a local community and to extend our range of activities and services for people of all ages.
Chapel Street (off Worcester Street),
Even if you know the town well, you may not have come across our building, since it’s a bit tucked away off Worcester Street. You may be more aware of a small pub on the corner of Chapel Street (the Waggon and Horses). We are within easy walking distance of the town centre and there is some on-street parking in the immediate location and on Worcester Street.
